There were five of us on the trip, all female. Which is not surprising considering that I had signed up since I didn't want to alone too. Our tour guide was a guy from the UK, I think his name was Trevor. Anyway, he thought a lot of himself and really got a kick from walking around with us. The locals would see him with 5 foreign women and say "Casanova guy","Viagra Man", "Lucky Man", etc... It was actually quite funny.
The Felucca journey really was the highlight. Sailing down the Nile on a small sailboat with no motor (and no bathroom). It was so relaxing and a great way to see more of the country. We stopped often (any time anyone wanted to go pee) and the food that was cooked by the crew was fantastic. One of the crew asked me to marry him (and no, he wasn't joking). He was sweet, and a good singer, but I wasn't interested. So I told him I had a boyfriend in Canada (little white lie). But then he couldn't understand why my boyfriend let me travel alone.
Saw lots and lots of Egyptian templtes. So many that by the time I got my film developed it was hard to tell which photos was from which temple. I had started taking pictures of the Signs at each site so I could keep bookmarks on my film, but I didn't start early enough.
